Icograda World Design Congress
2007 20-26 October - La Habana, Cuba
The Icograda World Congress in La Habana will celebrate
fresh perspectives on the intersection of contemporary
culture and the evolution of design. It aims to address the
influence culture has on design, how design is shaping urban
identities and the opportunity to use design as an economic
development tool. It will also offer participants a chance
to discuss how technology and the internet are influencing
traditional graphic and communication design.
La Habana will be the international capital of graphic and
communication design in October 2007 - a place for
designers, consultants, design managers, design researchers,
buyers of design services, educators and students to gather,
to share, and to learn. For information:

The International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda)
is the world body for professional communication design.
Founded in 1963, it is a voluntary assembly of associations
concerned with graphic design, visual communication, design
management, design promotion and design education. Icograda
promotes communication designers' vital role in society and
commerce and unifies the voices of graphic designers and
visual communicators worldwide. The vision, mission and core
values of the council are collectively embodied in the
statement 'leading creatively' and manifested through our
members' diverse activities to use design as a medium for
progressive change. For information:
