IGDS Board 2003-2006
Mostafa Assadollahi (President)
Mostafa Assadollahi was born in Tehran in 1950.
Currently he is a Professor and Director of the Graphic
Design Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tehran
University. Assadollahi, who is himself a graduate of
this university, began his professional activities in
the field of graphic design in 1965 as a freelancer for
several newspapers and magazines as well as working for
graphic design studios. In 1981 he established the
Mostafa Assadollahi and Associates Graphic Design
Studio, which is still active today. In 1996 he joined
the Iranian Graphic Designer Society (IGDS) and for
several years headed the Educational Committee of the
Society. In 2003 he was elected the President of the
Board of Directors of IGDS. He was always very active in
planning and setting up of the Iranian Graphic Design
Biennials and participated in the selection committee
and jury of these exhibitions. In 2002 he was the
General Secretary of the 7th Iranian Graphic Design
Biennal. His works have been shown in several
exhibitions and he has received awards in the 2nd, 3rd
and 4th Biennals for logo and poster designs. He has led
and directed national projects related to graphic design
and his works have been printed in several domestic and
international publications.

Majid Balouch (Vice-president)
Born in Tehran, 1937.
Graduated from Tehran
University, faculty of social science.
Trainee of interior design, sculpturing & photography.
Fine Arts department of Iran in biennial section, 1957-1961.
Graphic Designer in “Universal” advertising agency, “Ziba”
advertising agency, Oil Consortium, “Avazeh” advertising.
agency & “Caspian” advertising corporation, 1959-1968.
Founder & art director of “Amico” & “Chap Atelier” graphic
design studio, 1968 to date.
Design & production of an animation movie, 1964.
Second Award in advertising posters & proposals exhibition,
NewYork-1964.
Art Director of more than 50 live movie, puppet animation
and commercial animation, 1968-1978.
Exhibition of 50 Years graphic of Iran (1976) and IRAN
biennials.
Graphic designer of encyclopedia for young people, since
1988.
Member of children’s book council of Iran, since 1986.

Majid Abbasi (Treasurer)
Majid Abbasi was born in Tehran on May 6, 1965.
He lives in Tehran. From 1986 to 1989, he was a free-lance
graphic designer.
He was graduated on visual communications at the Faculty of
Fine Arts, University of Tehran. In 1989, Majid Abbasi
established Did Graphics Inc., one of the most prestigious
graphic design studios in Tehran with Firouz Shafei, his 50%
partner. With his team at the studio, he has completed
numerous design projects and a wide range of disciplines
including corporate identities, packaging designs,
advertising design campaigns, posters, book designs and web
designs. Since January 2003, he has started teaching at the
Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, following the
invitation of Morteza Momayez.
He has been a member of the board and treasurer of the
Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS) since 2003 and the
web assistant of graphiciran.com, the official website of
IGDS. He is also a member of the editorial board of "Neshan",
the Iranian graphic design magazine. He received national
awards in different categories. He was a member of the jury
at the 7th Biennial of the Iranian Graphic Designers in 2002
as well as the member of the organizing committee at the 8th
& 9th Tehran International Poster Biennial.
His works have been published in some specialized
international magazines and in addition, since 1999 he has
participated in many national and international exhibitions.
His works are presented in well-known museums, collections
and galleries around the world.
He is one of the founders of a group called "The 5th Color"
which is formed by a new generation of the Iranian graphic
designers.

Amrollah Farhadi Ardkapan (Secretary)
Born in Fars province/Iran - 1957.
Educated in graphic design in Tehran
- Co-founder & manager of; Agrandisman Graphic Group, Vije
Graphics Ad. Agency, Vije Pardazan Artistic & Cultural
Organization, Vije Negar Publications.
-Founding member of , IGDS and Iranian Advertising Agencies
Association
-Member of IAA ( International Advertising Association).
-University lecturer in graphic design, marketing,
advertising strategy & management.
Amrollah Farhadi is well-known as: Art director, marketing &
advertising strategic
planner, because of his many years of work and experience in
fields of management – advertising agencies both on local
and international scale – since 1976.
His works has been present in many graphic and advertising
exhibitions & biennials.
Establishing "Vije Communicative Art School" as a
professional private institute by collaboration &
participation of many famous Iranian graphic designers is
his recent effort.

Fathollah Marzban
Fathollah Marzban was born in
1956 in Ghaemshahr province, Iran and in 1975 entered the
Faculty of Decorative Arts of Tehran University to study Graphic
Design. In 1985 he established his own office called PARGAR
Graphic Group. He has participated in most biannual and
exhibitions and in 2001 he held his individual exhibition to
show his Graphic designs.
He has also been teaching at different universities as well as
being a member of executive committee at Eighth International
Poster Biennial. Fathollah Marzban is in charge of Educational
and Price Tariff committees and also a member of Board of
Directors of Iranian Graphic Designers' Society.
He was the winner of the best prize for book cover design at the
Drug Addiction Prevention Exhibition and won the special prize
of Jury for the World of Islam Biennial. He also won a Honorary
Diploma from Environmental Exhibition and was winner of the best
Pavilion Decoration for 19th and 20th Tehran International Trade
Fair as well as being the winner of Iranian Trade Exhibition
prize in Hannover (Germany).
