Graphic Design Week 2009

Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS), in time with the World Graphic Design Day, under the aegis of and licensed by ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Association), is going to hold Iran's Graphic Design Week 2009.

In its first-time inauguration and aiming to introduce and exhibit the functions of graphic design in urban societies, the event is going to be held in two parts, namely: the project of traffic signs in Tehran and traffic pen, designing urban visual identity, graphic design and urban and social problems and the special part of Placeless Treasury (the exhibition of unseen works in Iran's Museum of Graphics). The side event will be "The Competition of Design and Idea Processing to Tackle the Problem of Urban Waste".

Iranian Graphic Designers Society hopes, by the support and cooperation of the organizations and institutes in charge, to be able to exhibit one or all the three selected collection of works.

People who are interested in the Competition can see the required information on the subject of "Urban Waste" in the official site of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society.

The awards for the competition include a plaque of honor by the Iranian Graphic Designers Society accompanied by 3 awards each worth 3 million Tomans for the three selected collection of works.

The deadline to send the works to the secretariat of the Society will be the end of the official time on Wednesday April 8th.

The selecting and evaluating panel consists of: Shahrzad Asfarjani, Dr Majid Ja'fari Jowzani (the managing director of the House of Artists), Dr Masoud Karbasian (The deputy to the City Services Department of the Municipality Of Tehran), Farhad Fozouni and Farshid Mesghali. 

The Policy-Making Council consists of: Mostafa Asadollahi, Farzad Adibi, Mehrdad Ahmadi Sheykhani, Majid Balouch, Kourosh Parsanezhad, Ebrahim Haghighi, Ali Dourandish, Masoud Sepehr, Taraneh Saheb, Hanieh Sarrafi, Majid Abbasi, Manouchehr Abdollah Zadeh, Amrollah Farhadi, Bahram Kalhornia, Maryam Kahvand, Shahram Golparian, Behrouz Matinsefat, Farrokh Mahjoubi, Fathollah Marzban, Sa'ed Meshki, Mohammad Mir Alaii, Irajmirza Alikhani and Masoud Nejat.

The Department of Research consists of: Mostafa Asadollahi, Masoud Sepehr, and Bahram Kalhornia. The secretary of the department is Ramin Sheykhani.
